"The
Gospel celebrates
a level playing
field for all
ideas."

Based
on this
affirmation,
John Rankin
begins a radio
show called
the
Mars Hill
Society on
March 4, 2012,
Sundays from 9-10
p.m., on WDRC
radio in
Hartford, 1360
AM. It will also
be broadcast on
the internet, and
aim for
syndication.
Steve Knowles
will serve as
co-host, with
experience as a
broadcaster and
marketing
executive for CBS
radio in New York
City and
elsewhere.
The shows will be
taped in live
settings
–
universities,
churches, state
and federal
capitols and other
venues where the
widest range of
opinions will be
invited, including
lead expert
partisans along
with audience
participation. The
toughest questions
in any and all
arenas of theology
and public life
will be presented
for dialogue,
rooted in the
proactive
interpretive
perspective of
Genesis 1-2. The
purpose is to
create a real
society of
open-ended
conversation on
issues that
matter.
- This aims to
be
commercial-free
radio.
- It is thus
supported by annual
memberships of
$75.00, giving
access to the
online podcasts
of all the radio shows
for the year,
plus Mars Hill
Forums and TEI
classes as
produced.
The name Mars Hill
comes from the
time when the
apostle Paul
visited Athens,
and was invited to
address an
audience of Greek
philosophers, by
himself, explain
what he believed
and be open to
their questions.
We look forward to
a similar
spontaneity here.
